We will have OPEN PX instead of ORGANIZED PX.
We did have some rain overight. The track will be muddy for half the day today.
The race is ON for tomorrow. The track will be mint.

Weekend of 4/19 and 4/20
Friday, April 18 @ 19:59:53 CDT by hh (33 reads) | This is a bike race weekend for us at Hurricane. This means we will have ORGANIZED PX tomorrow (still planning on starting at 10 am), with races on Sunday. If you are interested in px on Saturday, you don't need a District membership to practice, and it runs from 10 am - 5 pm.
The phone's been ringing off the hook, so here's a weather update. We have had rain today, but we needed it. The gale force winds from earlier this week really dried her out, and we would have been watering tomorrow without this moisture. Jeff and I were in Rochester earlier today and it seemed as though they had more rain than we did. He's out there right now dragging off the wet spots, and we would advise you to call or check back here in the am for a more accurate report of what practice will be like tomorrow. (Forecast is mixed as to what we might get tonight, scattered showers, or nothing at all.)
We've got customers here right now, others are on their way. In any event, Sunday looks awesome....sunny and 70. NO KIDDING!!!
For the weekend you can look forward to a FREE movie and popcorn on Saturday night, courtesy of our friends at On Track 4 Him, Berms & Blacktops will be here to help with all your MX parts/service/gear needs, The Mighty Quinn (D23 Chairman Mike Quinn) will be on site Sunday to lend his expertise to the rider meeting, plus our major giveaway to the winner of 125 Junior - a set of big bike rims courtesy of Rims Plus. And I think I might even have a remote control Hummer to give away if I dig deeeeep in the basement....
But NOTHING can compare to seeing MX friends again after a long winter and throwing a leg over that bike. Or if you're an MX Mom, daughter, aunt, grandma, or girlfriend - the smell of race gas in the morning while sipping your favorite coffee, and the thunder of the season's first holeshot action.
So pack it up, load it up, and tear it up, right here at Hurricane Hills!!

Saturday PX Update at Hurricane
Saturday, April 05 @ 07:11:10 CST by hh (56 reads) |  Jeff walked the track this am and the two wet spots have not improved significantly enough so that you could ride the whole track. The valley is one spot and the corner before the table at #9 is the other.
After assessing the situation, we have decided to postpone our first OPEN practice until Tuesday, April 8th, weather permitting. Our regular season hours will commence then, but remember, always call before you haul.
Thank you for all your calls. Your support is overwhelming. With gas prices being what they are, we don't want you to drive all the way here and be disappointed you can't ride the whole track.
See you in a couple weeks!

Come & Race With Us!

Cyclone Series has a total of 8 MX races. You must race 5 out of 8 to qualify for the series and year end door prizes. We will count 7 out of 8 to calculate series points (ie...1 throw-out).
For our Quad friends, we have 4 total races, and you must race 3 out of 4 to qualify. Your best 3 races will count towards year end points (ie....1 throw-out).
2nd Annual Customer Appreciation Day will be held Saturday, October 11th at the track. There will be free camping, free open practice, banquet, and awards - for bikes AND quads.
For bikes, race entry fees will be $30 for the first and second class, your third class is FREE (same rider all classes). For quads, the first entry is $35, 2nd is $30, 3rd is FREE (same rider all classes). Get yourself some seat time at Hurricane Hills!
Open and Organized Practice is a flat $30. You can purchase your practices for less though, by buying a StormChaser Card ($120.00 for 5 practices), or a Season Pass ($200.00 for the 2008 season). Either of these promotions can be used for Open AND Organized Practice.
And keep in mind, if you haven't been on the track since September you need to check out the numerous track changes made late in the summer.
